Schwartz Named Officer of the Quarter
Officer Schwartz has been named Bellevue Police Department's
"Officer of the
Quarter" for the first quarter of the year. Four times each year the department selects one
officer who has demonstrated performance above and beyond that which is routinely expected.
Officers are nominated by their supervisor or a commanding officer.
Officer Schwartz was selected due to his good judgment and professionalism
and for his dedication to the department during several incidents in the first quarter. The
cases included child abuse, felony drug arrests, a high-speed vehicle pursuit and identity
theft. Chief Stacey called Schwartz a "Cops Cop", and added, "he has been involved in many
major arrests and high stress situations where he always took the proper action and knew
what to do. He is now part of the SWAT team and has honed his police skills even sharper.
Everyone is comfortable knowing he will be their back up."
Officers Brown and Chizek, Sergeant Tom Dargy and Lieutenant Chuck Clark
received honorable mentions for the award. This website includes more information about
Officers of the Quarter going back to 2000 as well as many other awards and accomplishments.
