Bellevue Police Department Expands Website

The Bellevue Police Department has expanded its website. Under the direction of Lieutenant Mark Elbert," the website has approximately doubled in content and continues to expand. There's more information than previously available about the awards BPD officers have earned, and completely new sections about community policing and special units. Chief John Stacey, an essential supporter of the expansion, said "We place a high priority on communicating police matters with those outside the department. Whether it's the media or the public at large, we are always in favor of sharing news about what we're doing. We look at our website as one of our best methods for doing that."

Additionally, the website has had stories about BPD events posted on the homepage since May of this year. These stories are changed every few days to keep the homepage fresh and to help inform the public about department activities.
