Officer Brown Named 2007 Officer of the Year
The Bellevue Police Department is extremely proud to announce its
Officer of the Year for 2007. Officer Brown has earned this honor because of his outstanding
performance during the course of the year. Officer Brown had been named the Officer of the Quarter
twice during the year for both the second and
fourth quarters.
Brown’s supervisor, Lieutenant Chuck Clark nominated him for the award. In reference
to Brown’s exemplary police skills, Clark said, "The only thing sharper than Brown's police skills is
his wit. He's a very effective officer and someone who is fun to work with."
In his nomination of Brown, Clark wrote that in many important incidents and daily
activities throughout the year, Officer Brown has demonstrated his outstanding initiative,
decision-making ability, work ethic, and street knowledge. Officer Brown has been commended for his
officer initiated activity that is consistently at or above his peers in all areas. Officer Brown
balances his time between aggressive traffic enforcement and special attention to problem areas
within his district. This has resulted in arrests for both serious traffic offenses as well as crimes
in progress.
The selection of the Officer of the Year was made by the Excellence in Law Enforcement
Committee. The announcement of the Officer of the Year was made by Chief John Stacey at BPD’s annual
Police banquet on February 2nd.
