BPD Supports Northrup Grumman Easter Event
McGruff shared stage time with the Easter Bunny as Northrup Grumman held an Easter
egg hunt on Saturday March 22nd. Approximately 60 children ages Kindergarten through 4th grade and
parents hunted for Easter eggs on the east and north sides of the Northrup Grumman building at 3200
Samson Way in Bellevue. Hotdogs and face-painting added to the festivities. Northrup Grumman's
Stephanie Smith was the event organizer. She was pleased with the turn-out and the support from
both the Bellevue Police and Volunteer Fire Departments.
In addition to a visit by McGruff, two motorcycle officers braved the morning cold
and appeared with Community Policing Coordinator Glen Truax. Truax’s police van was filled with fun
give-away items. Each child received a gift bag from Bellevue Police that contained coloring books,
crayons, police stickers, and a stuffed animal. Adults received drug education booklets and
Neighborhood Watch recruitment pamphlets. For more information about this and other public appearance
opportunities, visit the Community Policing area of this site.
