Officer Brewer Named Officer Of The Quarter
Officer Brewer has been named Bellevue Police Department's "Officer of the Quarter" for the first
quarter of 2008. Four times each year the department selects one officer who has demonstrated performance above
and beyond that which is routinely expected. Officers are nominated by their supervisor or a commanding officer.
Brewer was nominated by his supervisor, Sergeant Kurt Stroeher.
Officer Brewer was selected for several reasons including his rescue work on an elderly female
with heart problems, his proactive work on a call of suspicious activity, his positive contribution to the
officers’ wellness program as well as a significant contribution to the Neighborhood Watch program. Sergeant
Stroeher said, "Officer Brewer’s performance during the first quarter is an excellent example of community
policing at its finest." Officer Brewer was the Bellevue Police Department's
Officer of the Year in 1998.
Detectives Howell and Simones received honorable mentions for the award. This website includes
more information about Officers of the Quarter going back to 2000 as well as many other awards and accomplishments.
