Bellevue Police Bust Man Seeking Sex With Bellevue Child
A North Platte, Nebraska man thought he was soliciting sex from an under-age Bellevue girl over
the Internet. But when Martin Skufca showed up in Bellevue to meet her, he found out he’d been dealing
with Bellevue cops. Officers in BPD’s Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) are trained to pose as
youth on the Internet. CIB Commander Lieutenant Dave Stukenholtz said one of his detectives engaged
Skufca online and added, "he (Skufca) used several screen names and engaged in chats that were
sexually explicit in nature and stated that he wanted to meet the youth to have sex."
Stukenholz said the internet operation was geared to stop this kind of
exploitation of young people in Bellevue. He said they have made several arrests of this
type since they began the internet sting operation last year.
Martin D. Skufca, 23, of North Platte, was arrested and charged with child enticement
with a computer in Sarpy County Court on June 9. He could face a maximum five years imprisonment, a
$10,000 fine or both if convicted. He was held on a $5,000 bond and is restricted from having contact
with anyone under 18 unless another adult is present. A preliminary hearing is set for July 7th in
Sarpy County Court.
