The Police department has identified several areas that develop large groups of people causing an increased number of calls for police service. This system will not only provide the needs and assistance to apprehend violators, but will reduce the crime and call load for the responding Police Officers. By maximizing our efforts through technology, Police Officers are able to deploy a portable camera system and remotely view problem areas decreasing allocations, increasing manpower, increasing public safety, and developing a pro-active crime prevention mechanism. A proactive program such as this will enable the Police to enhance security for events such as carnivals, large gatherings, community events, parks, parades and other areas where it becomes challenging to provide adequate security through the standard process. The public is encouraged to provide input to do so you may email Jody.Vaughn@bellevue.net or John.Stacey@bellevue.net or comment on the BPD Facebook discussions page.
