2006 Crime Stoppers Service Award

The 2006 Crime Stoppers Service Award went to Detective McAlpin because of his expert undercover work in narcotics investigations in the Special Investigations Unit. Through his work as an undercover narcotics detective he generated several confidential informants. With some of the cases, Detective McAlpin was able to gain the confidence of the suppliers which enabled him to generate much larger cases, which eventually lead to federal felony indictments.

Despite the amount of time involved in the undercover operations, Detective McAlpin continually worked with his fellow detectives, assisting them in their case in any way that is needed. Detective McAlpin was able to write and execute at least three other court ordered search warrants and was the acting case agent on a number of other cases. Due to his work with other federal, state and local agencies in the metro area, he has been recognized for his professionalism, knowledge, ability and strong work ethics. Because of the significant contribution, not only to the Bellevue Police Department and its citizens, but that of the entire metropolitan area he is considered to be one of the outstanding law enforcement officers in our community.

Sarpy County Crime Stoppers honors one member of each police agency in Sarpy County each year, based on nominations.
