Lieutenant Keith Bader

Lieutenant Keith Bader has served with the Bellevue Police Department since 1982. He was promoted from officer to sergeant in 1996 and from sergeant to lieutenant in 2000. For nearly two and a half decades Lt Bader's police service was dedicated exclusively to the Uniformed Patrol Bureau.

In 2009, he began serving as Commander of the Special Investigations Unit. This unit primarily investigates narcotics related cases and complaints. Special Investigations also investigates gang related cases and those involving firearms.

Lt Bader commands the Property and Evidence Unit which processes all items of evidence gathered by officers and all found property. Lt. Bader also supervises the department's crime analyst.

He has been a Field Training Officer for the Department for nearly 20 yrs and is currently a Field Training Officer Coordinator. As Coordinator, he is responsible for insuring new police recruits receive the proper training they need as well as helping to solve problems they may encounter during their training process.

During Lt Bader’s law enforcement career, he has received many distinguished awards. These have included the Bellevue Police Officer of the Year Award (1989) and the Statewide Veterans of Foreign Wars Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award.

Lt Bader is the chairperson of the department’s Policy Review Committee and a representative on the Bellevue Police Retirement Committee. He has been the coordinator for the Excellence in Law Enforcement Committee the past ten years and is a member of the Police Officers Association of Nebraska.

Prior to joining the Bellevue Police Department, Lt Bader served four years as a Law Enforcement Specialist with the United States Air Force.
