He is authorized by the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center to train and certify police officers as Field Training Officers. He teaches a personal safety survivor course and a course in the prevention of violence in the workplace, both courses for employees of corporations and organizations.

In his more than thirty years on the Bellevue Police force, Captain Evers has held every rank and has served in every division of the department. Traffic safety, traffic enforcement, and the prevention of traffic crashes have always been his priority.

Evers is a member of the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Service (NHHS).
