Chief Stacey's job is to achieve the goals and objectives of the Bellevue Police Department by making best use of the human, financial, and physical resources available. He identifies law enforcement priorities and develops and implements programs to address those priorities.

As a 30 year veteran with the Bellevue Police Department, Chief Stacey has developed solid working relationships with Sarpy and Douglas counties' law enforcement agencies and those of other cities in Nebraska and near-by states. He is an FBI National Academy graduate and has 21 years of SWAT training. Stacey commanded the South Metro SWAT Team Unit, which serves Bellevue, Papillion, LaVista, Ralston and Plattsmouth for 21 years.

He is responsible for preparing equipment and operating budget requests and presenting those requests to the city council. Chief Stacey also sits in on city council meetings to advise the council on police related issues. Chief Stacey addresses various civic and neighborhood organizations on the activities and programs of the police department. He attends regular seminars, intensive training and relevant conferences to keep current on law enforcement best practices and police department administration.

Chief Stacey sits on the Offutt Air Force Base Advisory Council and is a member of the advisory board for EMS education at Creighton University. He is a member of the Sarpy County Communications Commission, the Police Chiefs Association of Nebraska and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Chief Stacey has also served the Bellevue Volunteer Fire Department as a volunteer for 37 years.

He is a 2007 graduate of the Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (LEEDS), a prestigious invitation-only exeuctive training event presented by the FBI. He is also a member of the Law Enforcement Executive Development Association. He holds a BS in Criminal Justice from Bellevue University and an AS in Emergency Medical Sciences from Creighton University. He is the recipient of numerous public safety related awards including 3 life-saving citations.
