Home > About Us > Administration > Lt Bob Wood Lieutenant Bob WoodE-Mail: rwood@bellevue.net Lieutenant Bob Wood is the commander of the Special Investigations Unit. This unit primarily investigates narcotics related cases and complaints. Special Investigations also investigates gang related cases and those involving firearms. Lt Wood also commands the Property and Evidence Unit which processes all items of evidence gathered by officers and all found property. Lt. Wood supervises the department's crime analyst as well. Lt Wood joined the Bellevue Police Department in 1994 as a patrol officer. His distinguished career here has included service to the Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Unit, two years as a Detective with the Criminal Investigations Bureau and six years service to the Special Investigations at the rank of Sergeant. Lt Wood has earned numerous and significant awards during his tenure of service to the department. These awards include a Lifesaving Citation (1996), the department's Officer of the Year Award (1995), the Knights of Aksarben State of Nebraska Officer of the Year (1996), Medal of Valor (1996), Meritorious Conduct (1996), Meritorious Service (2002), Detective of the Year (2002), Crime Stoppers Service Award (2002) twice earning the "Officer of the Quarter Award" (1995), and twice earning the department's Exemplary Performance of Duty (1999 & 2001). Lt Wood began his law enforcement career in 1992 with the Cass County, Nebraska Sheriff's Office where he served for two years as a Deputy Sheriff. Lt Wood has a BS in Criminal Justice from the University of Newbraska at Omaha. |
