Crime Mapping

Crime mapping is an essential function of a crime analyst's job. Mapping crimes allows for a crime analyst to identify hot spots, trends, and patterns in crime data. In addition to crime data, specific other demographic information such as census, schools, bars, etc., are analyzed to investigate the cause of certain crimes. Using maps enables law enforcement to visualize the geographic aspects of crime, which in turn allows for law enforcement to better understand and assess how to deal with crime.

Now, visitors to this website can access similar crime mapping data to view where sex offenders reside, as well as where burglaries, auto thefts, auto accidents, thefts from autos, and incidents of criminal mischief have occurred.
