Home > Community Oriented Policing > Public Appearances Public AppearancesThe Bellevue Police Department is a progressive and committed law enforcement organization. Education is a critical component in any public safety endeavor. Many citizens and groups desire more information regarding the specific tools and training an officer may employ. A Boy Scout troop may be working on a finger-printing merit badge, or a church group may request an appearance by McGruff the Crime Dog or a demonstration by a Police K9 officer and their four-legged partner. The Police Department receives many such requests throughout the year. As one can imagine, support cannot be provided for every event. However, if you would like to discuss the possibility of support by the Bellevue Police Department, contact the Community Policing Coordinator at 293-3071, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Please allow at least two months advance notice if possible. Many citizens of Bellevue recognize the importance of these positive interactions with members of their Police force, and we will try to support your request. If you visit other pages under the Community Policing banner, you will see other opportunities for you and your neighbors to learn more about your Police Department. In addition to specific event support, don’t forget that many fun and informative handouts are available from the Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (C.O.P.P.S.) unit office in the Southroads on the lower level. Whether it is a coloring book about "Stranger Danger" or a pamphlet about how to protect your home, many items are waiting for you. Stop by or call the Community Policing Coordinator at (402) 637-5852, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Alternately, for more information please email Mr. Glen Truax. |
