Officer M Brazda, Officer of the Third Quarter

The Excellence in Law Enforcement Committee has selected Officer M Brazda as the officer of the third quarter of 2000. Officer Brazda’s selection was based partially on his outstanding police work in two separate incidents.

The first involved the theft of three purses from a residence. Officer Brazda aggressively followed up on the case, and was able to make an arrest and recover all of the stolen property. The victim of the crime was very impressed, citing Officer Brazda’s very polite, courteous and knowledgeable behavior.

The second incident involved an initial report of a reckless driver. Officer Brazda located a possible suspect connected with the reckless vehicle, walking in the area. Officer Brazda was then able to obtain information as to who had been driving the vehicle, which had subsequently been reported as stolen. Armed with this information, Officer Brazda was able to locate and arrest the driver, as well as obtain a full confession from him. The Committee was very impressed with Officer Brazda’s outstanding interview techniques, his aggressive follow-ups, and his great work attitude.
