Officer Bailey, Officer of the Fourth Quarter
The Excellence in Law Enforcement Committee has selected Officer
Bailey as the officer of the fourth quarter of 2001. Officer Bailey was nominated
by his supervisor, Sergeant Hrbek. Officer Bailey was selected for his aggressive
work attitude and overall enthusiasm toward the job. Also noted by Officer Bailey’s
Supervisor was his extra effort as an Field Training Officer (FTO), his desire to enhance his abilities through
training and his being a role model for less senior officers. Officer Bailey’s
knowledge and abilities in the area of narcotics enforcement was also noted, which
has resulted in numerous felony drug arrests.
Honorable Mentions 2001 Officer of the Fourth Quarter
Those officers receiving honorable mention were Officers Kessler, McDaniel,
Lampman, Dreier and Bees.
Officer Kessler for her excellent investigation and interview techniques
resulting in the arrest of a person for numerous thefts from vehicles. Her extra effort
as an FTO was also noted.
Officer McDaniel for his hard work and extra effort on several Criminal
Investigations Bureau cases, including clearing several stolen vehicle cases and thefts from
vehicles. He was also commended for his assistance to Road Patrol Officers.
Officer Lampman for his hard work and dedication in his role as an
FTO. His supervisor also pointed out Officer Lampman’s excellent attitude and willingness
to take on any assignment. During this quarter, Officer Lampman was also certified as a
Drug Recognition Expert.
Officer Dreier for his pro-active police work in identifying and arresting
a Level 3 (high risk) sex offender who was watching school children during mornings.
Officer Bees was recognized by his supervisors for his very strong work
ethic and excellent attitude. He was also commended for his arrest of a burglary suspect
who was in the process of breaking into storage sheds.
