Sworn Police Officers

The Bellevue Police Department is always looking for qualified police officer candidates. The next opportunity for police candidate testing is in April, with an April 10th registration deadline. Wages and Benefits

The officers of the Bellevue Police Department serve under a contract negotiated by the Bellevue Police Officers' Association (BPOA). Police Officer salaries currently range from $33,508 to $60,819 yearly. The starting pay is negotiable and based on previous law enforcement experience.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess at least a high school diploma or GED and be at least 21 years old at the time of academy graduation. Applicants should have no felony or serious misdemeanor arrests, be physically fit, and be of good moral character. A college degree is preferred, but not mandatory. Military service is also given consideration. The Bellevue Police Department is an equal opportunity employer.

Testing Procedures

The Bellevue Police Department has contracted with a testing agency to allow candidates the opportunity to test with our department in one convenient process. Morrow & Associates coordinates your registration and administers both the written and physical agility exam. These are the first steps in starting a career with our department. After successfully completing these first two tests, you will be mailed an application and continue the testing process with the Bellevue Police Department. To register with Morrow & Associates, you can contact them at www.morrowhr.com, or by calling (402) 330-1019. You must register with Morrow & Associates in order to be considered eligible for hire. The exam process will be conducted several times per year.
