Police Service Dog Blitz

The Bellevue Police Department lost a valuable member of its force when PSD Blitz was put to sleep. Blitz was a Belgian Malinois from Europe. He was euthanized in March of 2006 because of medical problems. He was a dual purpose dog and had been with the department since 2002 as the partner of Officer Bartley. The two had worked together on many assignments.

Police Service Dog Nero

BPD's K9 Unit began in 1995 when Officer Bartley was paired with Nero in 1995. Nero and Officer Bartley were partners for six years until Nero's death in 2001.
